About Me/Online CV

One of my favourite challenges of recent years was to co-manage and light a production of Olwyn Wymark's play "Brezhnev's Children" which was performed in London by final year acting students from LIPA.

In June 2005, I finished producing a film which was coupled with an innovative set design, lighting, original music and choreography to produce a cathartic new work of dance. This was my Final Project at LIPA, and some pictures can be seen in my 'Gallery' section.

In the summer of 2005 I was DSM for a performance of "Children of Eden".

This show was rehearsed over 2 weeks, and had one day in the theatre to fit up, rehearse and perform. I came late to the project, having to cue the show after seeing only two runs.

We suffered a partial power cut 10 minutes before the interval, and I also had to assist in dealing with the effects of this.

BIOGRAPHY

My theatre/performance experience has been onstage, backstage and front of house, and I have worked in venues from a converted church to a 600-seat proscenium arch theatre to a 1600-seat concert hall.

My recent experience has allowed me to take on many roles on theatrical productions, from Stage Crew, through Stage Management, and Lighting Design, up to Production Management.

This has given me a thorough knowledge of all aspects of a production process, and an awareness of what other team’s members may be working on at any point in a production.

I maintain an interest in all technical theatre, and as well as Production and Stage Management, with recent Lighting work, I also have experience of Sound, and touring productions. I am a hard worker, who gets on well with others, can cope with positions of responsibility, and has a sense of humour!

I was Production Manager for four shows while at LIPA, and have experience as a Stage Manager and DSM.

I have often been asked to assist with issues of projection in live performance, have used my knowledge of A/V in a major project (described above), and am one of two Projectionists at the Philharmonic Hall, where I regularly show ‘classic’ films, and also more recent titles on the world’s only working Walturdaw screen - which rises from the stage on a platform carrying a decorative proscenium, curtains, and Left, Right and Centre speaker clusters!
